@h Well, I already said goodbye to Firefox. (Except the AI-free Firefox fork Zen Browser, better in every way.) @DarkAthena Well, my UBlock Origin is working just fine... And by signing in, my old Firefox passwords and bookmarks were right there... Smooth as glass, and the interface is beautiful and customizable. @DarkAthena The sole developer of Zen is here on Mastodon, and he runs the subreddit, in case you run into trouble. @SherlockHawk @h Well, screenshot was an extension before it was added. So it's possible it could be added in the future. But ignoring speculation, It's just upsetting Mozilla is making a generative AI bullshit thing in general. Supposedly the work spend on this is away from somewhere else. Plus, you know: where do they get the raw data, how much energy and water does the upkeep consume, etc. @EdanOsborne @h Unfortunately, no solid WebKit-based browser for Windows exists, so that's not an option for those users. (I wish it did, though) @starstorm_x1 @h My god... I checked everywhere and found that that's been the case since QtWebKit was discontinued. Why hasn't anyone done anything about this? We know from Evince, AbiWord, and Gnumeric that GTK2 can run on Windows, so it shouldn't be too difficult. However, I don't want to touch Windows, so it's probably not a project I'll be undertaking anytime soon. Then again, it could be useful for ReactOS. Maybe I'll load up an old copy of Anjuta and see what I can cook up... @h Here's hoping that Waterfox rips this out like it does Pocket and other Mozilla junk. @h Heh, "say goodbye to information" feels like the motto of the past few years. I'm now feeling nostalgic for information... @h even as an AI enthusiast, as a FireFox donor I am pissed People give $ to FF because we want an open source free noncommercial browser AND THAT'S IT Unix philosophy: do one thing, and do it well @dragonsidedd it’s just an extension luckily- it is separated! but still get it being annoying for mozilla to do at all I left months ago when they hinted at all this crap. Sad times people. Now using Librewolf and all the extentions are available and none of the new "add ons". @h@social.besties.house Firefox Browser Launches Orbit AI Assistant: Say Goodbye to Information Overload and Embrace an Efficient Browsing Experience! @h I actually kind of knew this was going to happen, I was messing around with sidebar flags in earlier versions of Firefox (really, LibreWolf) and found |
