I think Exoscale resells DNSimple... Does anyone know if DNSimple somehow uses Cloudflare as well or if it was hit by whatever hit Cloudflare?

Oh yep, their status page confirms they're also having issues (does not mention Cloudflare).

What other DNS providers are there?

@Gargron I use DNSimple and usually work pretty well. Was not aware of any problem.
