@SecureOwl Everyone thinks you're making a joke about eight bits in a byte, but actually the original is eight bits in a Spanish Dollar... Which was the original "piece of eight."
And that is why "two bits" used to mean what we now call a quarter. They were referring to one dollar being worth eight reales.
