Use KDE Connect:

On your phone, go into wher you keep your files (say, your photo gallery). Select the ones you want to transfer (1). Tap the share button (2), and the devices paired with your phone will show up (3). Tap the computer you want to send your files to and they will show up in the "Downloads" directory of that machine a few seconds later (depending on their size, of course).

It works both ways, also from laptop to phone, and even between phones and computers.

A diagram showing two phones and the process of sharing files with KDE Connect.

On the first phone, you can see an image gallery and how the user has select a picture. A labelled arrow points to the selected picture and says "1. Select". Another labelled arrow points to the "share" icon (3 connected dots) and says "2. Tap".

The second phone shows the gallery app with an unfolded share subpanel. A labelled arrow points to an icon representing a device paired through KDE connect and says "3. Share".

@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Thanks, I am aware of the sharing option of KDE Connect. Works fine for me. But native MTP implementation for Dolphin would be great - I remember it used to work sometimes and for some phones but no more now... Would be useful for organizing files / folders and copying between computer and phone.
