GIMP's default shortcuts:

- B, for the Pen tool

What even the fuck

@neauoire I so wish the shortcuts could be changed in GIMP, all of them are basically non-sense to me.

@neauoire and goddamn that acronym is uhm....yeah....

@neauoire uh? here Pencil is N, which is weird, but Paintbrush is P so fair enough. I'm using defaults; B is for Paths.

This is GIMP 2.10.22.

@neauoire Just call them ben and prush instead — now it's easy to remember 😆

@neauoire let's not forget Ctrl-Shift-A for deselect

I use PhotoGIMP, it wallpapers over a fair amount of the worst of GIMP's UX

Devine Lu Linvega

@deutrino OH! that's how you deselect, I've always wondered. Makes sense.

Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell:
@neauoire @deutrino For deselecting I pick a selection tool and do a single-click, and it might only work outside the canvas.
easrng

@deutrino @neauoire i mean that one makes sense, Ctrl-A is select all, so adding shift would do the opposite and select none

deutrino

@easrng @neauoire yeah it makes sense in GIMP logic, I can see it. I learned ctrl-A ctrl-D first, mainly because I started doing graphics stuff on other OSes before GIMP existed.

@neauoire I think GIMP was not made by people who have ever used image editors. Because if any of them used it, they would be as embarrassed and angry as anybody else who has ever used it themselves.

Milo 2600

@neauoire Then again, maybe they were never able to wait for the fonts to load

hkc (Carbonated)

@neauoire wrong

- B, for the Ben tool
- P, for the Prush tool

It all makes sense now

@neauoire the destruction of the tower of babel foils us once again
