Despite the fact that I speak French and don't use gendered pronouns for myself, I'm way behind on non-gendered terms in that language (this is due to the fact that I have lived away from Quebec for a long time now, and that I spend all of my time online in English spaces).

I recently learned that 'dessinateurice' was a thing, and I freakin' love it :nonbinary_flag:

@rek when I tried to learn French a few years back I was completely confounded by the whole arbitrarily gendered objects thing and spent more time trying to find a logic to why things were grouped in such ways that I eventually gave the whole language up.

It is a weird thing.

@jameschip @rek now imagine learning two languages with gendered objects, and their gender categories are DIFFERENT. Nothing but frustration...
