Do you remember I recently went for a walk in the woods? Well, I brought back not only photos, but also this kind of "friend" who loves hugs and bites. It's a tick π·. I really hope it's healthy and won't infect me with encephalitis.

@henry @SaareMartha Thanks for advice! In Sweden, doctors don't do any tests until you have clear symptoms such as a fever or muscular pain :ablobcatheartbroken: @henry @SaareMartha In Sweden things are different. That's what I got from my doctor today after showing the place of bite. I was also bitten a year ago and got Lyme. Even though it took me 3 weeks to get antibiotics π© @henry ugh, hate ticks, hope it's clean. Wife ended up with the typical Lyme rash and was given antibiotics a few years back, so far so good. Any time I go adventuring/lumberjacking/galavanting about the property and it's tick season I pretty much strip and search when I get back in the house. Once had one drop off my hat onto my neck, didn't even have to see it I knew what it was. I'm all for live and let live but ticks and mosquitoes are on my instant hit list. @henry To quote Jeremey Clarkson, "There's only so much sympathy you can give a man..." @henry We get them on our dogs here and although they may land on human skin they haven't yet bitten π€ @henry get thee self to a doctor asap and get antibiotics, you don't want to play with lyme @henry That looks a lot like a deer tick, the primary carrier of lyme disease. Granted, you're not in the united states but that's pretty much what our deer ticks look like. I know a lot of people have mentioned this already but as a avid hiker who has encountered these nasty insects a fair amount and know what they look like, be careful. See this image: |
@henry blooming garden decorations!
