Alas, Syncthing Android is being discontinued. Fair enough too but I hope it will keep going in some form. It's a marvellous bit of tech. forum.syncthing.net/t/disconti

@thomask I've been using Syncthing-Fork from F-droid right from the start (i.e. the last three months). Can't compare it to the original app, but I can attest that the fork works fine and didn't cause any issues for me.

@minoru Good to hear! I saw that one mentioned - I have my fingers crossed the answer on github.com/Catfriend1/syncthin will be "yep we're decoupled enough that it won't be a problem"

About #Syncthing @ #Android
So if anyone thinks I'm not telling the truth about #google or #alphapet to my family and friends? Guess again. That I, as a tech consultant in my circle of acquaintances, recommend some kind of #google or #alphapet service or device to them again? Guess again.

@thomask
That's bad.
I hope syncthing-fork which I'm using won't follow it's steps.

@thomask without support all previous versions will also work as they did before. And that means it will exist "in some form"

Thomas Karpiniec

@ElectroFetish Indeed, however keeping an app running in the background is a continuously-changing art form in Android and I wouldn't be confident that all will be well with old APKs within a couple of major releases.

ElectroFetish

@thomask I agree.
Android is not a full-fledged operating system. And it is even more unpredictable what will happen to it in the future.
So I can speak for the version of Android that I am currently using. Everything works. I am not going to update.

ElectroFetish

@thomask Of course, the development of the program is directly related to support. But it is necessary to implement resistance to staticity (archiving) of the program so that the inertia is much greater.
