A personal record for this grower, Leonardo from Napa Also now holds the record for the largest pumpkin ever grown in California OK here comes the last pumpkin, from world champion Travis who broke the world record with his 2,749lb pumpkin here last year @simon @simon Looks like the European competition was on Sunday. Heaviest 1152kg = 2.540 lb from Belgium @simon I'm not gonna lie Simon, these big pumpkins look like a 400lb guy who had to be lifted out of his bedroom on a forklift for bariatric surgery. Completely unappetizing, would not watch. @simon Hang on, is that really > 170 stone? There are pumpkins that weigh more than ten fat men? I had no idea! @robinhouston oh yeah, these are VERY big pumpkins When this festival started ~50 years ago a winning pumpkin was only about 150lb  @simon I grew up in CT near a giant pumpkin grower (back when the records were still 800ish pounds) and the fate of most winning pumpkins was to get an outboard motor attached to them and sail them around the lake... is that still a thing? |
