There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

@semiprime @foone @kianryan On some of my computers, upon powerup the GPU begins to execute code, and is responsible for bringing the CPU online.

This has made people not only angry, but very very confused. I'm quite convinced this is the thing that has already happened.
