@drewdevault yikes. While I hate to admit it, I've made that mistake before:
- Horrible thing X happens.
- We're all upset about X
- Slightly less horrible (still horrible!) thing Y happens. Y is a result of X.
- Everyone's upset about Y
- Me: why are we upset about Y when X is causing it, is even worse, and is still ongoing?
- How people see me: stop being snowflakes about Y, it's not that bad.

Although I only had to make that mistake once, and I was in my teens/early 20s...
