@neauoire The way I think of it, ruin is an accumulation of complications, hindrances, wounds, driving a system toward quiescence. The seeds of ruin are planted slowly, and fruit suddenly. @neauoire Ah, okay. I thought you came up with that one off the dome since there was no quotations. I would add that the farther away from ecological equilibrium an entity goes the more energy it takes to maintain.
