@thibaultmol @EUCommission No the point being made was Apple (often being painted as the problem) had been using the lighting connector on every device since 2012 before USB-C was a thing while companies like Samsung, Hauwei, Motorola, Nokia, Honor etc... had been shipping out new ranges of phones every year some with USB-C some with micro-USB (from 2007) even as this law was being discussed.  @kDelta @EUCommission I'm aware... But budget phones for the longest time still used micro-b. @thibaultmol @EUCommission And? Why? I bought a €3.50 Qi charger from Ikea almost a decade ago and it had USB-C. Why did phones have miro-USB? Could Apple have used micro-USB up until this year? You can't have a double standard just to have a jab at Apple. That would make you a hypocrite Sir. @kDelta budget phones used micro B because it was cheaper than usb-c.... Why the f*** are you getting so angry about this?! The point I was making was that USC-C was evidently cheap enough if a €3.50 Qi charger can have it. Additionally cheap is not always the answer anyway. I have seen many people even outside of the EU that are thankful that the EU now finally forces Apple to use USB-C. @melgu Even here on mastodon i'm seeing many fanboys crying to the EU for forcing apple and others to adopt USB-C. it's wild...  @thibaultmol @EUCommission Meh, the iPad has used USB-C a while now, about time the iPhone did too. |
