i dont think anyone has made some AP server that will accept and attempt to display all kinds of activities? i understand that it's hard to make it good but don't make it good then, just make it my hot take for the day is that trΓ€welling should make an actor for each user and publish Travel activities. instead of having a boring ass "post to mastodon" feature listen. websites that would auto post the shit you do on them to twitter were a mistake and we do not need to carry that over I just reached level 117 on Raid Shadow Legends π π hxxps://raidshadow.legens/event/12838575901832084935663849?utm_source=mastodon I just reached level 118 on Raid Shadow Legends π π hxxps://raidshadow.legens/event/12838575901832084935663853?utm_source=mastodon @codl AP servers could be so simple, they just need to be dumb pipes that accept activities generated by clients and then deliver / store-and-forward them to the marked recipients. all the complexity is offloaded to the AP clients which can generate and display whatever they feel like @codl also from the other end of the issue: mastodon should be able to render more things as statuses. none of this "supported types" / "converted types" ( / unsupported types?) bullshit. just render the content if it has any. @codl yeah we've got feditube and feddit and fedigram and they're all really bad at talking to each other @codl my brain crossed some wires and started thinking about Archipelago first, so now I'm imagining an Archipelago server with an ActivityPub frontend and posts every time someone gets a check, dies, or beats/forfeits the game ...I do agree that activitypub has moved past the need for Mastodon though fwiw. |
im not saying mastodon should be different (at least not in this point i'm trying to make) im saying that
1) there should be more weird and different AP things. i dont mean misskeys and other pleromas i mean something other than Twitter 2
2) they should not care if it shows up on the mastodon feed
