@paulrickards if it's an early model XO-1, it will self-brick if the internal battery dies and clock gets reset. it is unbrickable, but requires eeprom reprogramming via serial cable https://wiki.laptop.org/go/Fix_Clock thankfully, that's all avoidable with a firmware update! just update to the latest firmware if you haven't already, and the bug gets fixed @vga256 Ahhh I see! It did complain about the system clock being wrong but it still booted. Maybe it's been fixed already. @vga256 @paulrickards I've got three that work, they're so much fun for my tiny relatives @paulrickards No luggables here, so I think my only other handle-equipped machine is my Apple 2c @48kRAM @paulrickards greetings from a Compaq Portable 386/20, a TRS-80 Model 4P and a KayPro 4/84 I don't recommend trying to carry all of them at once @paulrickards Fun fact: this picture was taken while the lights were off; that’s how good that glow in the dark material is. |
@paulrickards so happy to see a functioning XO-1 again. i've got two down with the painful self-bricking due to the clock/firmware bug
