Hello, I'm from Western Japan. I'm a hobbyist artist.
I've destroyed my Twitter/x account, so I'm new to Fediverse, but I don't know much about it, so I hope you can help me out.

@yueplushart hey !! Welcome here !!! Here's a little guide to Fediverse an artist from my instance wrote !! Hope this'll help ! (It won't be meow social for you but pawn. Fun) And for the final point, if you have an Android I recomand the Moshidon app, it's really great and easy to use ! @yueplushart don't worry and if you want a meow dot social account I think I can send you an invite! @yueplushart There are several good apps for Mastodon for iOS besides the official one. A lot of people like Ivory. See https://fedi.tips/which-apps-can-i-use-should-i-use-the-official-app-or-a-third-party-app/ for a list of some alternatives. @yueplushart Hello and welcome! Konnichiwa!
I would recommend https://fedi.tips for some basic ideas. You can also follow @FediTips You're welcome to follow me as well - but I'm not exactly an expert! @yueplushart Your artwork is absolutely gorgeous, i really love your style. I hope you have a great time on the Fediverse. @yueplushart That's great!! I feel the same way after I deleted Twitter, too. My daily life became less stressful, lol @yueplushart #Welcome! You seem off to a good start. Some things: * Add alt text to images. It doesn't have to be long, but it should describe the image and point out any highlights. Fediverse is much about accessibility; adding a descriptive alt text greatly helps image accessibility. Many won't boost or interact with posts that have images lacking alt text. * Post an introduction, tag it introduction, and pin it to your profile. Look through that tag for some inspiration on what to include. * Including appropriate hashtags in your posts increases discoverability. * Follow! If you see someone posting something you like, look at their profile and consider whether you want to follow. Also look at and follow hashtags. Use filters/mute/block/unfollow as necessary to curate your feed. Mastodon doesn't push content to you, so you need to seek out that which matches your interests. @yueplushart One more thing that I didn't think of previously. Just like there's no algorithm selecting posts to show you, you also don't need to fight any censorship algorithm. In fact, trying to obscure words is more likely to annoy people because a lot of people set up filters to hide things they don't want to see; which won't hit if you replace letters with symbols or digits or the whole word with an unusual synonym. Best is to just use the commonly accepted word for a thing when you post. @yueplushart Your art looks so familiar, but I can't place where I've seen it before. Anyway, welcome to the fediverse =3 |
@yueplushart your art is very good :neofox_floof_happy: welcome to the fediverse! it’s like twitter but cozier and friendlier
