Also look at and follow hashtags. Use filters/mute/block/unfollow as necessary to curate your feed. Mastodon doesn't push content to you, so you need to seek out that which matches your interests. 3 comments
@yueplushart One more thing that I didn't think of previously. Just like there's no algorithm selecting posts to show you, you also don't need to fight any censorship algorithm. In fact, trying to obscure words is more likely to annoy people because a lot of people set up filters to hide things they don't want to see; which won't hit if you replace letters with symbols or digits or the whole word with an unusual synonym. Best is to just use the commonly accepted word for a thing when you post. |
