@kudos @dansup Actually, federation is one of the features I keep hoping for in GitLab, so I'm all for anyone doing that. A centralised front-end for a distributed system makes little sense to me.
There was an issue open about that, but I think it got stalled at some point... 🤔

@jjatria @dansup I would love for it to becone federated too, and it's conceivable that the community could make it happen at some stage. Gitlab are good enough stewards currently that a fork would have no momentum. GitHub on the other hand is entirely proprietary.
