psst: you didn't hear it from me, but the cool thing about the loopies, you can connect a @loops server to your @pixelfed or @Mastodon instance and handle login with your local users, while maintaining a separate db/storage for loops.
pretty spiffy if you ask this random guy with no connection whatsoever to the project
