@dansup there unfortunately are some physics limitations for interplanetary internet. Light travelling from Earth to the Moon takes about a second, which as far as we know is the speed limit of the universe. That means at minimum there is about a second of delay for all internet traffic between Earth and the Moon. For Mars, it's about 3 minutes with the same limitation. While most of the time this probably wouldn't be an issue, it could pose problems for applications that require real-time communication with minimal latency, such as online games and video calls.

@ch0ccyra1n True, but we haven't mastered quantum entanglement yet - who knows, we could have instant communication in the future

Hate to rain on that thought, though... "Collapsing an entangled pair occurs instantaneously but can never be used to transmit information faster than light."

@anathem @ch0ccyra1n Hey that's mean!!! Maybe we have yet to learn dark matter or something could be used for this!

Wouldn't it be so cool to be FaceTiming your bo on Earth while you on Mars tho?

Maybe I'm watching too much For All Mankind, but a guy can dream right??

@dansup
Dreaming is what we're here for.
Never stop dreaming!
Even if reality gets in the way.
