@wyatt8740 this is quite basic. My only comment is that burnout takes 6-12 months to repair so nurture a workplace culture that doesn’t lead to burnout. ☺️

@mikaellundin i'm simultaneously seeking a new job and terrified of the prospect of landing a new job because I haven't healed from my last one yet, even though all things considered the last company was one of the best i've ever worked for.

@wyatt8740 I hear you. I went from one toxic work environment to another until I said enough and became self employed. It’s not for everyone, but the absence of a boss makes the difference for me.

@mikaellundin I want to do that, but the main problem is that almost everything i want to do involves ancient stuff no one cares about commercially (or art which i need to get better at before i can do that)

@wyatt8740 can’t say that all client work is what I’d love to do, but it’s still of my choosing. I choose to do this tedious task they hire me for and 100% of the compensation goes to me. The bad things aren’t so bad because I have chosen them myself.
Sometimes I force myself to do stuff that I shouldn’t, and in that sense I’m my own worst boss. But those pains are still self inflicted and I have the opportunity to choose differently.
