@MartinBe @MeanwhileinCanada years ago there was an artist who was accused of counterfeiting for offering his artistic renditions of american currency in trade to buy things. he never called his art "money". after the feds dropped their case i never heard anything more from the newsmedia about him.

@MartinBe @MeanwhileinCanada no, his was 100% his own creation, pencil and ink, sometimes watercolor, not on banknote paper.

@homelessjun @MartinBe @MeanwhileinCanada I vaguely remember something about a Canadian artist who did that with postage stamps -- would draw the stamps on the envelope.
