@chiraag @m3tti @morganmay @mcc
my answer was that "everything is political" and "not everything is political" have both valid arguments and that the discussion is as old as human history. So who am I to decide who is correct if the most brilliant minds were not able to come to a conclusion yet?
So I wanted to emphasise that you should all try to understand the arguments of the other side instead of convincing each other. I am sure all of you have more that unites you than sets you apart.
@buddhaha @m3tti @morganmay @mcc "Not everything is political" only works if you agree with the status quo, though. Because that's what "apolitical" is - the "default" (status quo) is good, so I don't need to think about politics. This only works, though, if you are part of the dominant group(s) in your society. If you are straight, "gay" is political while "straight" is apolitical. If you are a woman, gender becomes political.
