It’s really disheartening to see comments like these.

I'm working tirelessly to ensure @pixelfed reaches its full potential, and while it may seem like an endless cycle, we’re making steady progress towards a stable release!

@pixelfed if there was a guarantee the app won't stay in beta forever, I would be more inclined to support your journey but it seems stuck in an endless improvement and rewriting state. I'm impressed by what you do but at some point you have to mark milestones and continue to move on. Cc @dansup

@dansup @pixelfed I disagree with that comment. I think there is way too much software, that seems to have been released without hefty quality assurance - perhaps in favour of staying in front of a hype-wave. Maybe that’s what happens when decisions are made by marketing rather than engineering 🤷‍♂️. Keep up the good work and thank you 🙏.

@dansup @pixelfed I can understand how that feels. On the other hand there is a clear message that is positive and motivating:

- people like pixelfeed
- people want to use pixelfeed

I understood the user as someone who wants to use pixelfeed without having too invest a lot of time into maintaining an instance. Which is understandable. I love to tinker with IT. Yet for important stuff (e.g. mail) I am very conservative and still use dovecot and postfix. I use them because they are low maintenance and high stability.

If I would have a lot of pics that would hold the same value for me, then I would also choose a „stable“ system for „production“ use.

Long story short: I would read that message not as a complaint but as a message telling me that people *want it for the things that are important to them*.

Just curious but what made you choose React Native and not Flutter ? For many people I think it's because they are familiar with web development and it's easier to approach RN.

@dansup @pixelfed I think it's safe to assume you can just ignore this!

You've pushed changes every time I get around your apps and sites. You're doing an amazing job!

@dansup @pixelfed looks to me like somebody (not you) doesn't understand how beta is supposed to work.
You release, we try, we feedback, you work on what we've reported, you release. Repeat That's what you're doing here.
Now onto paying for it. We're not paying for you to get this out of beta, we're supporting the work you have and will do to keep this going after that too.

Every dollar given is someone saying: this is worth supporting.
