I went through 3 total rewrites of the @pixelfed app from 2019 to 2023
Earlier this year I started a new version but this time it was open source from the start, and is using best practices
I've learned a lot from the previous iterations, performance is key and you'll def notice when you update ✨
@dansup @pixelfed when you do a “total rewrite”, does that mean you start from scratch as if previous versions never existed, or are there libraries or functions you wrote before and reuse?
