geez! wish I’d found Mastodon a lot sooner. I’ve had howlinhobbit.com for years (nearly decades, plural) but the site is currently hosed and my longtime hosting service has at some point gone from efficient and friendly support to a total mess.

all I’ve got now is a temporary headquarters on a free Wordpress.com site.

If I ever get the mess straightened out I’ll happily and visibly link to my Mastadon profile. (I’ve already done that via my Linktree.)

@Gargron @Mastodon But… this takes away one of the joys of Twitter. You know, when you encounter a verified account, where the username and display name are just a first name, and there's no website listed… "verified to be who, Twitter?"

@Gargron And different instances have different policies for verification. E.g. I had do bribe the admin of the instance I am using with high quality Swiss chocolate to get an account. In person nonetheless!

We don't have a website of our own but we are on the FFF International website Fridaysforfuture.org and the rest of our Social media accounts are all verified except @Mastodon so,it would be nice for you to guide us on how to get verified here @Mastodon as well.

And verification (the notorious blue check mark) is possible in Mastodon? I'm curious... Then the official pages can be moved...
