Infinite scroll is a blessing and a curse, combined with algorithms, they can become quite addictive.

That is the whole point of developing a project right, for people to actually use it, and the most possible?

I know, there are detriments to encouraging excessive use, but we shouldn't ignore the fact that algorithms and infinite scroll are here to stay.

The question with @loops is, how we can encourage the most healthy use?

@dansup @loops Just don't have links in the page's footer that infinite scroll makes it impossible to get to. I've seen this too many times.

Hey Dan!

Have you considered adding a big ad or text after X scrolls with something like:

"Hey, you've scrolled 4 pages already, why don't you take a break? Social Media should be healthy and not addictive."

And maybe after 10, 20 or even 30 pages block for 2, 3 or 5 minutes the user to ensure there's a real break?

@dansup @loops One problem with the tiktok algorithm is how it does not create strong connections between creator and viewer. I think social sites that do not center that relationship fall short.

@dansup @loops I think infinite scroll could be optional. Like people can pick between having a chrono/following feed or an algo/infinite-scroll feed as their default home feed
