I'm pleased to note that even https://dolphin.town, my Mastodon server where the only letter you are allowed to post is "e", has seen increased activity in the last few days.
Thanks Eeeeelon!

@rwmpelstilzchen Oh, I know one in Brazilian Portuguese I didn't see on your list: https://contexto.me - find out what the secret word of the day is by testing out words and seeing how they rank compared to the word of the day. It's an algorithm that compares words in Brazilian Portuguese and rank them based on how similar they are.

@rwmpelstilzchen @anna https://cemantix.herokuapp.com is a French semantic version.

@darius i was having trouble following my account on dolphin.town from here - is that by design?

@darius arch enemies of @oulipo.social! Or perhaps where all of the unused 'e's end up?
phii (local floofgirl cutie)
@darius did you specifically choose E as the only valid letter to make sure that all the transfems flock to your instance, or is it a coincidence that it is E out of all letters? xD

There are so many ways to encode arbitrary data when all characters you have are e, E, and space. But then maybe I'm just too boring.
ed(1) conference
Can go with Morse Code: E eeee eE E eEEEEe eee or binary if you prefer eEeEeEee eEEeEeee eEEeeeeE eEEEeEee eeEeeEEE eEEEeeEE eeEeeeee eEEeeEEE eEEEeeEe eEEeeEeE eEEeeeeE eEEEeEee eeEeeeeE
ed(1) conference
For Morse: $ echo "Your text here" | morse -s | sed 's/-/E/g;s/\./e/g' | fmt -99999 For binary, using the Python REPL: $ python -q
ed(1) conference
It exists mostly as a Twitter/Masto account for sharing ed(1) tips, tricks, and encounters of ed in the wild. I'm a little more lax on Masto, also including other CLI-related stuff like the above CLI stuff.

@darius now how long does a password with “e” only need to be to have the same amount of entropy as “secure” ones

@darius Let me guess: there is an Ook! programming language that these folks prefer! Love it already.

@darius okay but this would be the funniest esoteric programming language, particularly if numbers were excluded so one had to represent an int as a string of eeeeee s corresponding to the number - LISP vibes

Oh right: some of you might be interested in this talk I did 5 years ago called "Infrastructure As Shitpost" where I talk about Dolphin Town and the creative possibilities of the fediverse

@darius this makes me very happy. i introduced Lori to the fediverse today and we are gonna try our darndest to make the MAL more present here than birdsite

@darius Since you can upper and lowercase Es and whitespace, you can send messages in Morse code. What about accents? Can I toss off some heavy metal ëës?

@darius Now I just need a tool to crosspost translated forms of my posts here. Reminds me of NaNoWriMo obfuscation, from back when you had to paste your full text into the site. People worried about NoNoWriMo stealing their novels would replace every character with the letter "n" so you'd still get an accurate wordcount, but without any content. I added that as an export option when I coded a novel editor last year.

@darius I hope in can handle the load. EeEeEe_EeeeEeeeEeee_EeEeEe incoming :) (beautiful Idea!)

@darius I suppose that running an instance only with the E letter, you know or someone already told you about this french book : "La Disparition". A lipogrammatic french classic #book by Georges Perec from 1969. The whole book was written without the E letter (which is a prowess in french language where it's a prominent letter).
clacke: looking for something 🇸🇪🇭🇰💙💛
@skenizen He knows it and there is an instance for that too. =)
