@Gargron So, I don’t have the time or energy to host a server for other people (outside of my family/friend circle), but I’m wondering: as a simple user, would it better technically if I hosted my own server (with only me on it)?

I’m not asking ideologically speaking, but on a technical level.

Does load actually decrease for each individual instances if users spread out?
