@dansup Sorry, but it immediately reminded me of the Facebook Pages layout I remember before I left...

@gbraad @dansup That's the point!

Pixelfed Groups are heavily inspired by Facebook Groups.

Keep in mind we only took the best parts of FB Groups, you won't see Group posts in your home feed or public feeds, they are contained to their own screens.

We're working on separating almost every aspect so you can easily ignore the feature and use Pixelfed like they don't even exist.

@yaqub @pixelfed @gbraad do what? Pixelfed Groups are an exciting new way to share content with like minded people, and are not unlike Lemmy Communities, so what is the real issue you have?

@dansup @yaqub @pixelfed I think it is not bad to learn from them. Stealing is flattering, right? ;-)

For me as long as you improve, learn from their mistakes and allow to adopt a more distinguished look and feel.

as a start, I see no issues with this.

@dansup @pixelfed @gbraad worried that it should not look like a copy of FB

@dansup @yaqub @pixelfed @gbraad will Lemmy communities appear as groups in Pixelfed? I think that would be good.

@dansup I’d love Facebook groups without Facebook! So can’t wait! Keep up the good work!

@dansup I'm really looking forward to this. I'm searching for an alternative since ages, but everything lacks function & design or costs a newborn a month.

@dansup I think there will be a lot of use cases for this. Amazing work so far as always πŸ™Œ

@MichaelBishop Yes, every Pixelfed server will have this feature!
