@Gargron @fdroidorg Releasing on F-droid would mean no Google services push notifications right? I don't remember if they allow apps that use gplay services. @Librenyaa @fdroidorg From what @grishka told me, notifications should work if you have Google Play Services installed, regardless of if you get the APK from F-droid or elsewhere. Although, if F-droid forbids it, that's another story. I'm not aware. ~/love+chill+sysadmin $ @Gargron@mastodon.social @Librenyaa@mastodon.social @fdroidorg@mastodon.technology @grishka@friends.grishka.me so it works as long as its not required to build it ~/love+chill+sysadmin $ @Gargron@mastodon.social @Librenyaa@mastodon.social @fdroidorg@mastodon.technology @grishka@friends.grishka.me which is it not, reading the build.gradle-nya. So y'all are fine-nya. Nyaa, I kinda took care of that by not using the Google library (that has closed source parts in it). I figured out I can simply manually send the intent and get the device token. So no, it formally doesn't break the f-droid rules because 100% of the code that goes into the resulting app is open source. |
@Gargron @fdroidorg poke @exodus 🙂
