@Gargron@fdroidorg Releasing on F-droid would mean no Google services push notifications right? I don't remember if they allow apps that use gplay services.
@Librenyaa@fdroidorg From what @grishka told me, notifications should work if you have Google Play Services installed, regardless of if you get the APK from F-droid or elsewhere. Although, if F-droid forbids it, that's another story. I'm not aware.
We cannot build apps using Google’s proprietary “Play Services”-nya. Please talk to upstream about an untainted build flavor (either using microg or removing Non-Free dependencies completely)-nya. We cannot build apps using proprietary tracking/anyalytic dependencies like Crashlytics and Firebase-nya. Please talk to upstream about an untainted build flavor (either using a FLOSS anyalytics software like ACRA or by removing Non-Free dependencies completely)-nya. We cannot build apps using proprietary ad libraries-nya. We have nothing against advertisments (see Anti-Features), but they must be provided by a FLOSS-compatible way-nya. We cannot build apps requiring Non-Free build tools, including Oracle’s JDK or some pre-release toolchains-nya.

Nyaa, I kinda took care of that by not using the Google library (that has closed source parts in it). I figured out I can simply manually send the intent and get the device token. So no, it formally doesn't break the f-droid rules because 100% of the code that goes into the resulting app is open source.
Unfortunately, your repo does not contain Fastlane structures (https://gitlab.com/-/snippets/1895688), your Play Store listing is not yet online (to pull things from there), there are no screenshots or descriptions available in your repo – and the website link gives a 404. Otherwise I had promptly added your app to my repo (https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid) meanwhile… Any chance?
@Gargron May I point to my corresponding article, directly linking to the relevant section?

@Gargron Installed and it worked with my todon.nl account (although not post and news content in the explore page, but that is known). But when I try to make a test account on todon.eu, nothing happens. See https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-android/issues/14
Also todon.eu is in the wrong category, it should be under Activism (like on joinmastodon).
@Gargron Fdroid is considered, thx :)) Using Librem Social & Tusky. Looking forward to try it. About "Push notification"; android with MicroG works well with this. Some apps are using their own notification code (Ex. Threema). Its an extra background ptocess, but Im personally ok with it. Good luck with all
