Another thing about the @pixelfed app you may not know: our Discovery feature uses a custom central API to show popular posts and accounts on every instance, even brand new ones!

This feature highlights popular posts/accounts from pixelfed.social and mastodon.social in a clever way to ensure that every Pixelfed instance and its users can browse and discover content regardless of local content!
