@Ursalzona Did you sign up through VPN? Are you located in barred country? Did you use different names on your payment accounts? If there are any inconsistencies there, that's a reason for closure. These are the things they are looking for. It's almost never the content of your website / service.

They did ban crypto mining and of course illegal content in Germany/EU.

Sorry to hear it went this way with you - but I've been with them for over 15 years and never had any issues.

@iworx I didn't use VPN, I'm in Brazil. I signed up with my own name. We have the biggest instance in Brazil, feminist, pro-human rights, we have no illegal content, Alt text is a rule, because we have disabled people and we are all about inclusion.

And I have no clue what happened because they don't tell. Using "it didn't happen to me, therefore is not a problem" , is just lack of empathy. Good luck with these awful people.

@Ursalzona you are focusing too much on your content/service. They probably just banned/barred Brazil due to whatever reason. I can wholeheartedly agree that it requires at least some decent feedback on the why — and they could have given you some time to move. The only thing I was trying to put in perspective is content vs owner/location/payment methods.

Good luck on finding a hoster that is more open to users from outside the EU.

@iworx they ask for your location when you sign up and they have Brazil on the list, therefore they don't ban Brazil. Hetzner was suggested by a Brazilian friend who use their services for more than one year (he just pulled his sites out of Hetzner yesterday in solidarity) but it's not location. And we will never know what happened because they refused to say. I can have my conjectures when I don't have any answer.
