got a Nerd Question for you all: for an upcoming @lickability design thread, I need to screen record an iPod touch 5 on iOS 6. can someone tell me if this workflow would work before I buy it:

iPod > Lightning Digital AV Adapter > capture card > computer

Alternatively, is there a better way that doesn’t sacrifice quality? It’s jailbroken, but it looks like all of the screen recording tweaks that support 6 have poor FPS. And AirPlaying to my mac leaves that ugly blue bar (+ airplay degradation)

@samhenrigold do quick time screen recordings require a higher iOS version?

@keir too new, it piggybacks off of the QuickTime recording thing introduced in iOS 8 :/

@samhenrigold ahh :/ I wondered if that was the case. I remember jailbreaking (back in the day) an old iPhone and running into the same FPS issues you're having :/

@samhenrigold @lickability Have you tried Display Recorder by Ryan Petrich? I used to use this about 12 or so years ago:

@samhenrigold @lickability the digital AV adapter also has AirPlay degradation. Internally it’s just an AirPlay receiver.
