However, doesn't this also inflate the development and maintenance cost since for every service their own apps for every platform has to be developed and maintained?  @dansup @stux @tizian I don't think that "costs" is an argument with systems that are build by volunteers. Having a bunch of groups working at a similar problem ensures that the solutions will most likely be better suited for different target groups. Also each developer group can get inspirations by the stuff that other teams did.

@tizian @stux It does, but PeerTube is already established, and I'm working on reducing the storage costs associated with running Loops by using the latest video formats which use less storage.
It's all about compromise, but in this regard, I think the diversity in short videos is something that should encourage growth and experimentation at all costs
