Oh for Christ’s sake, now they won’t let me name it “for iPhone” because it also supports the iPad, but I’m not allowed to name it “for iOS” either For context, the “Mastodon” name is currently occupied and while I am looking into getting it eventually that’s a potentially longer process @Gargron is this the part where naming your software after your favourite band finally backfires? @Gargron well the obvious one then has to be Mastodon Official or Original… or maybe Mastodon Federated. Not sure if Social can be added as not intending it to be the single hosted instance. @Gargron If that's too awkward, I guess you can always just make two apps, one "for iPhone" and one "for iPad", and mark them as unavailable on the other, but just build the same code for both. @Gargron A lot of developers just sort of ramble there to disambiguate, like “Mastodon — federated social networking” or what have you. @Gargron I’d love to give a good rating (and I really appreciate the work). But honestly, the native Mastodon app is sooo slow and laggy on my phone (iPhone Xr), I always switch back to Toot! after testing an update for five minutes. @Gargron I have some problems with the iPad version on Mac M1 with the "Login" button. The web confirmation doesn't work. :./ |
@Gargron Come on, Apple, hurry it up!
