I'm so done with Matrix, we can't even remove spam in the pixelfed matrix, so I'm moving all pixelfed operations to Discord.

@dansup sooo... invite a mjolnir/draupnir bot?

@dansup don't you want to build an open source, self hostable, maybe activitypub based, chat platform to replace discord?

@dansup It is what it is. Discord is a good product. Unfortunately closed source. But a good product.

Matrix is… well… not a good product. :D

@dansup as an admin you should be able to delete spam. what is the exact problem 🤔

@dansup okay, I'm in a supporters group with their devs. I will send it to them. maybe the have a quick answer besides the help desk way

@dansup it seems that you are not moderator in the group but @freenode_dansup:matrix.org is.

@dansup what @val is saying. and:

"but if there's active spamming happening then abuse@matrix.org is better and will likely respond faster"

Christoph Howard

@dansup Why not use Draupnir to help moderate spam in Matrix?

Here's the project where you can request a Draupnir bot hosted by a Draupnir community member for free. docs.draupnir.midnightthoughts

Alexia :neocat_flag_trans:

@dansup never thought of deploying Draupnir? :drgn_think_confused:

@dansup Are you talking about #pixelfed:matrix.org? You are not moderator of that room, @freenode_dansup:matrix.org is. That room was auto-created from the freenode IRC bridge, and you did not give your Matrix user moderator permission.

@dansup Been wanting Matrix to win but I feel this too

@dansup what are you looking for in an alternative? Discord will mean a lot of people who care about software freedom will not join or interact.

Rocket.chat or mattermost are other alternatives, or XMPP/Jabber. They all have pros & cons, though, so it really depends on what your needs are.
