@mjdxp I'm running and installing this on my main personal computer :emma4head::fluffytail: #GoToSocial: it's basically sort of fine-ish; it's not the worst; it's sort of okay depending on what you need it to do

@gotosocial It's got some nice extras. I've been meaning to add support for interaction policies. It makes perfect sense that it's this expensive because they can't benefit from the economies of scale. I think it's going to be more important than ever that #Mastodon and the #fediverse are not centrally operated out of the US unlike almost every other social media platform out there.

The number of active monthly #GoToSocial users seems really low -- I can't be one of 65 month active GoToSocial users. Update: http://archive.org is back online in a provisional, read-only manner. @internetarchive Where can we report ongoing suspicious activity? I have noticed attempted phishing attacks by members as late as october 10th. Google has officially begun killing uBlock Origin. Your options: It's finally time. After years of deliberation, #Minetest is finally ready to adopt a new identity and prove it has moved beyond its original purpose. We can finally move past the "mining" and the "testing" and focus on making this platform the best it can be. #opensource #freesoftware #gamedev https://blog.minetest.net/2024/10/13/Introducing-Our-New-Name/

@Minetest https://www.namecheap.com/domains/registration/results/?domain=luanti Q: You're just some rando on the Internet, what can you possibly know? 🤔 A: I used to work for the .IS ccTLD registry. I currently work for Quad9 DNS resolver. I happen to know a thing or two about DNS. Q: Okay, but you don't have personal stake in this, do you? So of course you're not worried! 🤷♀️ A: My home domain – where my blog is, where my personal infra is, and where my hobby projects are hosted – is rys.io. Yes, a .io domain. I have a very personal stake in this. @rysiek you pretty much said it. If France can still have what is effectively just another ccTLD for .aq, certainly the UK will not have a problem keeping .io alive for their claim. That's not even mentioning .gb exists and hasn't been used for decades, with the UK only last year giving their intention to retire it |
