person installs a realism mod into Minecraft. stuff looks uncanny in game, similar to what we see in the movie trailer
but then they wake up in the middle of the night to find the face of a creeper looking in through their window. slowly, over the course of the movie, more and more of the game gets brought to reality, as they need to figure out how to stop this realism mod from converting the entire earth.
something ive been noticing recently is an eagerness to attribute malice and negative labels to people who intend no malice
and that all it takes is being in the wrong place at the wrong time for people to assume bad things about you
like, yes, a pattern is a pattern. like, if a user posts mainly transphobic stuff, they're definitely a transphobe
but sometimes, someone might not understand that something is transphobic. or they might copy and paste a quote, not understanding the historical significance of it. or they might reshare a meme not seeing that there's a nazi symbol hidden in the corner
a lot of people will latch onto these little things and accuse the person of being racist, transphobic, etc. and then further dig into it saying that if you don't also interpret it that way, you must also be racist, transphobic, etc.
this is toxic, fedi
people shouldnt feel like theyre walking on eggshells because anything they innocently post might be taken as bad
im not saying we should be ignoring these things either, but im getting burned out from being called this or that because im not seeing presented evidence as conclusive
just... have fun, fedi

everything will be oki. i know it doesnt seem like it at times, and the world's gone to shit. but theres still good in this world. theres still people fighting. theres still people trying to make it a better place.
and it will be a better place. maybe not yet, but it will be. and you just gotta try to keep your head up until we reach that point. and we'll be right here with you, helping each other every step of the way
life isnt an mmorpg where every person is a specific class with a certain level.
you're not a character sheet.
if i lose someone, ill never get them back. i cant make a comprehensive list of traits, find another person with those exact traits, and think they'll replace you
because they're not you. they're not the relationship we have. they dont have the history and experience with other people that you do. (and this applies to relationships with other people too, not just me.)
