I'm starting to learn about plain language as an accessibility issue. Many texts that currently use specialist language would be accessible to more people if a plain language version was created. I wrote some personal thoughts on how I might adapt my practice to include it: https://zoyander.cc/zonelets/posts/2023-01-08.html

Critical Distance, a non-profit I volunteer for on the board of directors, needs help. We have been archiving and contextualising online games writing for 13 years. We are asking for help to allow us to continue operating, and perhaps even invest in building longer term resilience. I'd be very grateful for any help spreading the word: https://www.gofundme.com/f/critdistance

I'm no expert, still feel like I'm new to the Fediverse and still figuring out what I want to do here, but FWIW the most important thing I did was moving onto a smaller instance that's populated by the kind of people I wish I could talk with IRL. My feed is now better tuned to my interests and much friendlier. |
@zoy #Alttxt a photo of a... π what? Fediverse Logo?
@zoy πβwow β¦ thatβs like if Escher crocheted?! ππβ£οΈ
@zoy In case anyone was wondering, the crochet figure has the geometry of a truncated rhombic dodecahedron, viewed along one of the three axes of four-fold rotational symmetry. I have a similar shape made of glass.
