@letsencrypt Hmmm - 3.5M/day and most people are on a 90-day renewal cycle so that’s ~315M sites that are using Let’s Encrypt. Wow. (That’s close to 1/3 of a billion)

Also: Validating and generating 3.5M certificates per day!!!

One project that seems like maybe would fit with Lets Encrypt:

Set up a certification for Mastodon account based on the website ssl certificate. So for example, organization like whitehouse.gov or npr.org or theguardian.com or eff.org could have certified Mastodon accounts.

Essentially it would allow us to have an indication of official accounts.

I hope you and EEF keep up the good work. Thanks for what you have done.
