Yes, they have it on the roadmap - not sure how far away they are from delivering. They only have 1 full-time developer (so donate money so they can employ more for faster delivery of new features).

@nixCraft IIRC, unfortunately the lead developer of Mastodon has repeatedly stated he is against the feature for... reasons. 🤷‍♂️

@nixCraft Resourceful clients like Ice Cubes and Phanpy already will show the quoted Mastodon post if they recognise the URL to be a Mastodon post. I think people who wanted this feature already have it.

The HIG says you should handle internet loss gracefully in your app, but Apple Music completely shits itself when it loses internet. If you try to play a song when you have spotty internet, the entire app locks up and you can’t even play your downloaded music unless you force restart it.

Another result of losing talent in order to keep the loyal bootlickers, as typical of an American company.

@owncast this was a great read! Know that we really appreciate what you've made, especially in the face of constant "Why haven't you done this?" or "Why doesn't it do this?" I really wish I knew web dev better, but I am learning more and more about app development, so who knows maybe in the future I can help with a native mobile app :) keep that passion going, and again, thank you!

Wow, I just used flathub on my Linux Mint to install XIVLauncher...
Da F*ck ? I just needed to point it to a pair of repertories, added some permissions here & there with Flatseal, copied my character folder...
And it just works. IT WORKS.
I'm flabbergasted (in a good way) 😲

@gamingonlinux Assuming that is isn't already a feature I don't know about - the missing feature I'd like to see Flatpak add is a version rollback feature. Would be handy at those times when a new flatpak update fubrs the application, and one wants to go back to the previous working flatpak version. It's happened to me a few times, and I end up waiting for fix.
