The Washington Post's non-endorsement in the U.S. election may have led to a mass exodus of subscribers (250,000 according to @npr), but that's been a boon to many other news organizations. Nieman Lab says The Guardian U.S. broke its single-day fundraising record, twice, while the Philadelphia Inquirer had its best ever week for new subscriptions. After all, that guy created over half a dozen federated projects, three of which are still active: Friendica from 2010, before Diaspora* even, Hubzilla which started life in 2012 and the actually nameless code repository commonly referred to as (streams) last year. He is behind three open federation protocols, DFRN, Zot and Nomad. And he invented nomadic identity as early as 2011.

Does simplecast support the Podcasting 2.0 transcript tag in the feed? so we can have the transcript as subs in the app. That really helps for people that are non native English speakers, and for accessibility.

@Flipboard is there a whitelist on which servers it can login to? I can't get it to use my private instance, it doesn't even try to load the login screen. It just immediately says "We are unable to login to this mastodon instance. Please check that the provided hostname is correct."
