And just like that, electric vehicles with CHAdeMO plugs can now use an adapter to charge with CCS chargers. I'm genuinely impressed.

@KiwiEV I try watching Dala's videos, although I think " I can do that" with the follow up thoughts " not legally or live through it"

This is a HUGE 100% battery powered tug right here in New Zealand. We went head-to-head with a dirty diesel tug in #Auckland harbour.
The planning, filming & editing took WEEKS and the finished result was epic, but sadly Twitter and Facebook's algorithms both decided it sucks and should not be seen by anyone unless I pay hundreds of dollars. 😭
Is this what the internet has become?
What do I do?

@KiwiEV

Its pay to play on social now :/

@KiwiEV I would love to see the whole video. Upload it to the Internet Archive, where it will live forever (presumably). Also, what is nice, they don't takedown free videos for using copyrighted music. #BeACopyrightAbolitionist archive.org/

@KiwiEV Alt text: a hatchback car with driving school signage has driven through a 6ft wooden fence panel and crashed into the wall of a house.

An unfortunate graphic on this rental car. From one angle it looks like a plug but looking at the other way, it resembles something else.

The financial savings of driving electric cars are great, but I wish more kiwis talked about climate change & the importance of carbon reduction. It's a big deal.

Regularly I see New Zealand discussions about "What car should I buy" never mentioning Climate Change, as if it'll go away if we ignore it.

I mean, do you have kids or grandkids? If you do, do you like them? Do you want them to have food and water when they're 50?
Sounds hyperbolic, but it's not, if you listen to climate scientists.

@KiwiEV
Car companies make EVs to save themselves, not the planet.
This is very obvious in EV social media forums.

@KiwiEV I think this is a better Chris Penk sign.

@KiwiEV Climate change is more of an abstract concept to argue over. I suspect it's better to focus on improved air quality as that is far easier to demonstrate and is chuffing obvious if you made them smell their own car fumes. That carbon reduction is an accidental benefit and there's less push back from the 'it's just weather' people.

I deployed a BYD Atto 3 electric car to a family which had lost electricity after Cyclone Gabrielle. These cars have adapters which allow you to treat them like giant battery banks.

Thanks to BYD for the immediate loan of three electric cars and V2L adapters during this crisis, no questions asked. You folks rock.
