When I see others imitate bits of what I do and they do it better:

Judeau

@gamingonlinux That's awesome, man! Humble people are good people!

Sylver W. Poulsen

@gamingonlinux I love when people are like this.
It is also one of my favourite bits about proper scientists, because they celebrate being proven wrong as much as right, because it means that things have progressed.

I asked someone in my YouTube channel comments not to bring childish console fanatic antics to my channel and to take it elsewhere.

It went as well as you might expect.

Yes, it is I, your favourite low end content creator.

@gamingonlinux But without fanatic antics how will I point out how much better I was as 90s Nintendo kid instead of an impoverished Sega kid

Jason Famularo

@gamingonlinux In fairness, Linux runs well on low-end devices. Embrace the #LowEnd

@gamingonlinux Finally.I was able to play it once via the Ubisoft Launcher thingy on Lutris, but since then it just refuses to connect to the servers (Internet says using a VPN fixes this, lol). I hope the Steam release works better.

Ollie The Magic Bum

@gamingonlinux I wouldnโ€™t play this game. To keep it profitable Ubisoft has put in software much like on Facebook that tracks what you do and maybe even what you say so it can show you personalized ads on screen. I deleted this from my pc and completely changed hard drives. Itโ€™s bad enough itโ€™s on my phone

ljยทrk

@gamingonlinux Well, it's *been* on Steam once, and I'm currently playing it through Bottles on Steam Deck flawlessly :-p

Me: mom can we buy Nintendo?

Mom: but we already have Nintendo at home

The Nintendo at home....

Thanks dbrand, it's revolting. Ya can gross-up your Steam Deck here: dbrand.com/shop/steam-deck-ski

How-To Geek used one of my complaint tweets in article, I see you ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ˜†

@gamingonlinux I didn't even know about this game until yesterday before the launch lol. It looks fun like Sunset Overdrive almost.

Dingo ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ :verified:

@gamingonlinux canโ€™t wait to try it out. I added it to my wishlist. Iโ€™m currently playing through Persona 4 on my Steam Deck with the Stadia Controller. Itโ€™s great.

Maksym Hazevych :abloblamp:

@gamingonlinux that's nuts, right? Like, that's the same SDK they use. And the docs are looking good. I wonder if it'll run on Linux, but I own Metro at PS4, so whatever.

P.S. I'll probably buy it again in Steam sometime in future. Long future that is.

@gamingonlinux Cool! I wish more game studios did this with their old unsupported titles.

IMO companies should be legally obligated to release the source code for software they no longer support.

mndflayr :damnified: :debian:

@gamingonlinux I spent hours on M&M 3, 4 and 5. I tried the later releases, too, but never enjoyed them that much.

ilmull

@gamingonlinux Had no idea this project existed. Cool!

Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

Oh jeez. This is the problem when one gaming site references another, without fact checking. Game Rant ran a story based on a PCGamesN removed article, where they accidentally used year-old data about the Steam Deck ๐Ÿคฆ

Wait, this is the same writer as PCGamesN, referencing his own article that was wrong and removed. What is going on ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ’€

CommodoreSpence

@gamingonlinux yea that's silly, developers arent uncertain about crap, they love this thing and so do I!

Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

Steam Deck owners, when you wake it from sleep do any of yours do the beep, then be unresponsive for a bit then do the beep randomly again then you can use it? A really odd one Iโ€™ve seen recentlyโ€ฆ

@gamingonlinux mine wakes without issue but it does freak out when I do a restart a lot.

thekraken8him

@gamingonlinux Yes. Mine often does this when I wake it if there was a suspended game.

Sometimes it looks like a silent reboot because it quickly shows the โ€œverifying os integrityโ€ screen and the game has crashed when I get past the lock screen.

Some games do it more than others.

Is it so much to ask for other journalists to like...take 5 minutes to check what they do?

PCGamesN just put this up...seemingly not checking the dates of the survey. They used a *year old* survey.

@gamingonlinux PCGamesN hasn't been the best in terms of information validation.

I ended up being used as a source for potential release dates for a project I was a backend dev on at the time, because I replied to an inquiry with a 'I don't know' and a pointing of then towards the person who was our actual PR point.

DELETED

@gamingonlinux to be fair, and with all due respect, theyre destroying their profession. It goes on not only in Gaming/Tech news, but also on almost every type of journalism. There are a lot of good, objective, respectful journalists in the world, but it appears those who get the 15 minutes of tv/radio/newsite fame are never part of that group...

Oof, I hope this documentary makes some things at valve change for the better

RamsHornStudios

@gamingonlinux That cop game near the end, though... ๐Ÿ˜ซ

CodexNotFound

@gamingonlinux people make games is in my opinion one of the best journalist/documentarists when it comes to the industry of gamedev.
I loved their piece on the dangers of Roblox as well.

Mathieu Comandon

@gamingonlinux I should really consider migrating the Origin integration in Lutris to the EA App. I have a lot of the games listed here working fine on Linux desktop with Origin but tbh, I haven't even tried the EA App yet!

@gamingonlinux ok up until now most of the plugins ive been seeing are neat but not lifechanging enough for me to go and install deckyloader, but i think this is the one that's gonna push me into doing it lol. having my controllers die without notice is so annoying

Vancha :fedora:

@gamingonlinux Hmm do you think valve will ever officially implement a plugin system? love the work everyone has put in so far, but i really wish there was a more stable official way to write a plugin :(

@gamingonlinux As amazing as this game is, itโ€™s very strange they are raising the price on a game that has been released for so many years.

If they were trying to get more cash flow after hitting a market saturation of sorts, this is not the way to go about it.

@gamingonlinux I have played the demo, but in my opinion Satisfactory and its 3D prospective are way better (and it is now on sale on steam). The only thing that I dont like in satisfactory in comparison with Factorio is the lack of pollution meter and animals attacks in reaction to that.
