EXCLUSIVE - Upcoming co-op adventure Luma Island will be releasing for $20 and we have confirmed #SteamDeck support: https://steamdeckhq.com/luma-island-launches-nov-20/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon The next #SteamDeck Client update is here and finally brings us Game Recording, which works quite well on the Deck so far: The Steam Controller from Hori is making its way over to the USA after initially releasing as a Japan-exclusive product, and it works very well with the #SteamDeck: The all-in-one emulation package for #SteamDeck, RetroDECK, got a brand new update and custom ES-DE theme to go along with it: With so many games released this year, we put together a list of the developers/publishers that have made great #SteamDeck compatible games like Nightdive Studios, New Blood, and SEGA. The games they publish are more than likely to be great on Deck: The #SteamDeck subreddit has been marred with controversy for the last year or two, but recently, the top moderator was completely removed and a new mod team has taken over. Here is the story of how it all happened and what led up to the removal: @steamdeckhq eh, Reddit has been way downhill for the last year anyway, better use Lemmy. The Fanatical birthday bundle is filled with great games like DUSK, Children of Morta, The Ascent, Trinity Fusion, and Frostpunk, all for a cheap price: https://steamdeckhq.com/news/fanatical-birthday-bundle-2024/ SteamOS 3.6.20 has been pushed to the stable branch, bringing with it performance improvements for Metaphor: ReFantazio on #SteamDeck and some bug fixes: @steamdeckhq does this address the issue with the most recent update that led to some petty gnarly frame drops? Per the last Steam Hardware survey, Linux usage has grown to 2%, which could indicate more people using a #SteamDeck in general: This week's #SteamDeck Verified/Playable games include some incredible titles like Europa, Vampire Hunters, and the upcoming The Thing: Remastered: Slitterhead is an intriguing and unique horror game with some great ideas in there, but has a bit of stiffness in story-telling. However, it's still worth checking out and is playable on #SteamDeck! A copy was provided by Bokeh Game Studio for review. https://steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews/slitterhead/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon We tried the Monster Hunter: Wilds Open Beta on the #SteamDeck, and it was a bit of a mess: A new month means we can now see the Top 20 most played games on #SteamDeck for October, and Metaphor is in the Top 3 slot: https://steamdeckhq.com/top-20-steam-deck-games-october-2024/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is quite possibly one of our favorite JRPGs of the last couple of years thanks to its non-linear story, unconventional mechanics, and how well it performs on #SteamDeck. A copy was provided by Square Enix for review. An OLED Panel mod for the original LCD #SteamDeck is being made, and it sounds incredible: @steamdeckhq Custom bios just kills this for me... If they ever fold as a company and can't provide a new bios the deck becomes a brick. I never want to risk that. A new Proton GE update was released with some updated components and minor game fixes for the #SteamDeck: https://steamdeckhq.com/proton-ge-9-17-released-with-updates/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon Apex Legends got a new update that blocks it from being played on any Linux OS, which means we can no longer play on #SteamDeck: https://steamdeckhq.com/apex-legends-can-no-longer-be-played-on-steam-deck/ @steamdeckhq I play it casually, I guess I'll just move to other similar game that works and is not actively blocking Linux users. We got the chance to play Dragon Age: The Veilguard a bit early on #SteamDeck thanks to EA sending a key, and we are quite pleased with the results so far. Here are our first impressions: https://steamdeckhq.com/dragon-age-the-veilguard-steam-deck-impressions/ A new SteamOS Beta update was released that improves performance for Metaphor: ReFantazio on #SteamDeck by up to 20%, and while it isn't perfect, there are some noticeable improvements: Carry The Glass got some #SteamDeck support in their newest update, along with VSync and better camera movements: |
