With the new month, we can now see the top 20 most played #SteamDeck titles of September 2024, and I am a bit surprised that GTA 5 is still so high up: After getting the Hori Steam Controller, we thought long and hard about what the perfect #SteamDeck controller would be like and have. So, here is what we think would be the perfect controller to take on the go: https://steamdeckhq.com/my-dream-steam-deck-controller/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon Marking the end of an era, Nintendo Switch emulator Ryujinx has officially been shut down: You can get almost every Resident Evil game, not including RE4 Remake, for a very cheap price thanks to Fanatical's new bundle. And all of them are great on the #SteamDeck: https://steamdeckhq.com/news/fanatical-resident-evil-bundle/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon We got to play Dynasty Warriors: Origins over at the Tokyo Game Show and found it to be more personal than previous entries, and it was fantastic: @steamdeckhq sheesh it’s a long time since I played a Dynasty Warriors game- I’ll wait for Stef Sterling’s take on this one 🤣 Zoochosis is a creepy game so far, and it is playable on the #SteamDeck with compromises, but it could get better soon: https://steamdeckhq.com/news/zoochosis-is-playable-on-steam-deck/ Rogue Waters is an enjoyable tactical pirate roguelike with some interesting mechanics, and it is playable on the #SteamDeck! A copy was provided by Tripwire Interactive for review. https://steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews/rogue-waters/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon This week brought with it tons of new #SteamDeck Verified/Playable games, including Metaphor Re:Fantazio and others that we also reviewed like Rogue Waters and Epic Mickey Rebrushed: @steamdeckhq I wanted to call attention to the fact that UFO 50 is also now rated by valve as "playable"! This is the new game from the creators of Spelunky, Downwell, and Catacomb Kids. I know multiple people who have bought steam decks just so they can play this game! It's worth checking out, it runs great IMO and there's a lot of value getting 50 games for $25 that only take up 500MB storage! It's all 2D games too so I think they are kind on the battery life. Fantasian Neo Dimension is running on #SteamDeck at Tokyo Game Show, and from what we are hearing, it is going to be a perfect portable experience: Ahead of its release, Metaphor Re:Fantazio's developer, ATLUS, has confirmed that they will be working on those optimization issues present in the Prologue demo, which should hopefully improve #SteamDeck performance as well: https://steamdeckhq.com/atlus-working-on-metaphor-optimization/ Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the kind of game I want the mainline EDF series to be, and it is filled with fun, tons of content, and it runs well on the #SteamDeck: A copy was provided by D3 PUBLISHER for review. This week has some new free games you can get for your #SteamDeck, including The Spirit and the Mouse, Ynglet, and being able to try Cross Blitz directly from Steam: A new update for EmuDeck was released that brought in a new UI, new features for their plugin, and the 3DS emulator Citra has returned to #SteamDeck: @steamdeckhq This is going to be confusing, I only installed it for the first time this week. Mouthwashing is a short, but sweet horror game with a great story and some surprising twists and turns, and it's perfect for the #SteamDeck. A copy was provided by Critical Reflex for review. https://steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews/mouthwashing/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon We tested out Metaphor Re:Fantazio's prologue demo on the #SteamDeck, and while it has some drops in some areas, it gives a lot of optimism for the full release: @steamdeckhq 75% scale is too rough for me but I thought it was awesome locked at 40fps in native res, barring the 25-30fps dips in town (but after BG3 guess I built up a tolerance) Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been delayed until February next year, and it will be releasing on Steam day 1! Here’s hoping for #SteamDeck compatibility: https://steamdeckhq.com/news/assassins-creed-shadows-delayed-steam/ We sent over some questions to Nate Purkeypile about #SteamDeck compatibility for his upcoming heavy metal horror game, The Axis Unseen, and it sounds like it’s going to be a great portable experience: Over the last couple of days, SteamOS got two new updates on #SteamDeck that fix some small issues to improve stability: @steamdeckhq the name of that update though :bad_pun_dog: you've got to look for it 🔍 https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1675200/view/4676514574298208465?l=english A new Proton GE update was released that includes the new God of War: Ragnarok and Elden Ring fix, as well as update its components on the #SteamDeck: Beyond Galaxyland is a fantastic space epic that brings as much joy as Final Fantasy, but in its own unique way. And it is amazing on the #SteamDeck! A copy was provided by CI Games for review. https://steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews/beyond-galaxyland/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon |
@steamdeckhq AFAIK, only the online is unavailable, the main game is still playable. I wonder how many Steam Deck/Linux users were in fact playing online...
