We inherited Tommy after both of my dad's parents died. Tommy would follow my dad around the yard like a puppy as he worked on vehicles (my dad, that is - not the cat - extra digits not withstanding).

Photo taken in August 1995, using my Konica TC-X. #Caturday #BelieveInFiIm

Buy books, movies and music on physical media while you still can. At least download digital media to store and backup on your own devices.

There's a colossal multimedia industry that wants to make consumers forever dependent on perpetual subscriptions that get more expensive all the time. If they decide to delete it from their catalog, you have no recourse.

Buy a book or recording once and enjoy it for a lifetime! #BuyPhysicalMedia

@analogfusion You’re reminding me that I have years of Bandcamp downloads ahead of me. I need to buy a hard drive to back up all of it.

@analogfusion As @shibacomputer has said: "Pirate the media you love. You never know when it will be bought by a hedge fund".

@kel @analogfusion I can see the good sense in this, but I also struggle with it as a consumer. I know it's much better for the artists as well to buy directly--I would still probably be a digital purchaser because I find physical media both harder to access and less convenient--but that's infinitely more expensive, and I don't know how to merry those two facts. I try to buy my very favorites, when I find something meaningful, but I love so much it becomes difficult, monetarily.

To anyone else, this is just a photo of a partially frozen pond surrounded by trees. To me, this is a special place where I spent a great deal of my childhood. The old shack I salvaged items from yesterday stands on its shore nearby.

I took this photo from a spot that used to be a beach area 25+ years ago. You’d never know it today as the trees growing on the “beach” are several inches in diameter. #Pond #NewEngland #NewHampshire #ChildhoodMemories #ThingsChange #X100V
