@HardFastAndFree Oh.. it’s confusion. You don’t need to login anywhere else to follow. If you see a remote follow screen, enter hardfastandfree@mastodon.social into the dialog window and it will take you back here.

@jalcine Letting people use their own domain with hosted accounts could be a step in the right direction, but not trivial, in regards to authority: the main server could modify your account even though the account is on your own domain, that doesn’t feel right.

@HardFastAndFree Have you tried password reset? Perhaps your browser has autofilled the password when you were changing it so it saved something unexpected

@jalcine But the here-equivalent of posting on your own site is self-hosting your own mastodon/pleroma/etc. Not everyone has their own site to post to, not everyone wants to manage their own site...
